Mac OsX : the dmfit program also works under Max OsX using the WINE emulator (tested on Snow Leopard 10.6)...
Install dmfit on your mac and test it :
1 - Start by Installing Wine on your Mac OsX
2 - Create a dmfit directory in your Application Folder
3 - Copy the content of the dmfit zip file in your Application directory '/Application/dmfit'
4 - From a Terminal window type 'wine /Application/dmfit/dm2011.exe' it should execute dmfit in an X emulator window
Create a script and put it in the dock :
5 - Open "AppleScript Editor", copy the following and save save the script as an
application (".app" extension) :
tell application "Terminal"
do script "wine /Application/dmfit/dm2010.exe"
6 - From "AppleScript Editor" you can test the script by calling execute - it should
7 - You can execute dmfit by clicking the script and you call drag it to
your Dock for an easy access.
Sorry ;-) it seems that
+ you cannot copy/paste graphs from dmfit in this configuration...
+ you cannot drag a file to the program, you have to load spectrum or decomposition files using the
[File/Open] or [Decomposition/Load] menus
Linux : The dmfit program also works on Linux system using the WINE emulator (tested on Red Hat 7.1 and higher).
Windows XP :

dmfit may not be compatible with the "grouping similar buttons" feature of the task bar.
click right on the "start" button, [properties]/[Task Bar] disable "grouping similar buttons"
!!!! Warning Registration of extensions !!!
Remark for Vista & Windows7 users : Vista & Windows7 do not allow application to
register their extension in the normal mode, to register the 1R, fid, fxml,
fxmla, f01... extensions
To register dmfit extension execute the program once in the "administrator" mode by
clicking the right button and chosing "execute as Administrator"
